Azerbaijan is a developing economy in the Caspian Sea region, with abundant oil and gas reserves. However, due to weak oil revenue, the government’s focus has been on growing the non-oil sector, which is translating into opportunities in the agribusiness, construction and non-oil energy sectors. More specifically, the development of the new gas transit lines to the EU and the announced government investments of USD7 billion by 2020 into the renewable energy sector are presenting opportunities for companies interested in the market.
