Angela Fong headshot, EDC
Angela Fong ICD.D, GCB.D

Angela Fong was appointed to EDC’s Board of Directors in August of 2024. Following a distinguished 25-year career as an executive in a variety of industries, Angela recently retired as the Chief Corporate Officer of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), which is one of Canada’s largest institutional investment managers.

Angela’s executive oversight has included corporate strategy and planning, corporate communications and stakeholder relations, government relations, corporate and board governance, corporate human resources, business technology, acquisition due diligence and integration, enterprise risk management, and enterprise program delivery and business services. Prior to joining AIMCo, Angela held executive-level positions within a variety of industries including engineering and geomatics, insurance adjusting and airport management.

Angela is an active corporate board member, currently serving on the boards of Alberta Health Services (Governance, Compliance and Human Resources Chair), the Edmonton International Airport, University of Alberta Innovation Fund, Gateway Mechanical (Chair) and Bee-Clean (Corporate). 

Angela is a Senior Strategy Advisor (consulting) to Investor Leadership Network (ILN). ILN was launched at the 2018 G7 summit and is a CEO-led group of 15 institutional investors, asset owners and asset managers. ILN is advancing three strategic workstreams relating to private capital mobilization, climate change, and diversity, equity and inclusion within the investment industry. Angela advises the CEO on ILN’s broad strategy and is also the Senior Strategy Advisor for the climate and diversity, equity and inclusion committees.
